- J.R.R. Tolkien'in yazdığı ilk çocuk hikayesi.1925 yılında, dört yaşındaki Michael Tolkien kumsalda gözdesi olan oyuncak köğeğini kaybetti. Oğlunu teselli etmek için J.R.R. Tolkien, büyüyle oyuncağa dönüştürülen Rover isminde bir köpeği ve onu eski haline döndürebilecek büyücüyü arayışına dair bir hikaye uydurdu.Rover ya da daha sonra tanındığı gibi Roverandom, maceraları sırasında bir kum büyücüsü, korkunç bir ejderha, denizdeki kral ve Aydaki Adam'la karşılaşır.
