It does not require soldering for default Arduino GPIO pins, and all the pins on the Uno board are available on the shield, except for the pins used to flash the Arduino. SDA and SCL pins are accessible through the shield, making it compatible with Uno board. However, the shield doesn't have terminals for pins #18 and #19 (SDA and SCL), which could be problematic for use on Mega2560 and Due boards. In one case, a little hacksaw work was required to make it fit an Ethernet/Arduino Uno combo. Overall, the shield performs well with no issues and worked perfectly for a CNC controller.
