  • question: Hi, I have seen descriptions that it is a flush cutter but it is not in description. Is it a flush cutter that can handle 16 gauge hard wire?

    répondre: Xuron designed its cutters with by-pass jaws, and they make clean flush cuts. The 2193 makes smooth, flat cuts. Xuron rates it up to 12 ga. So far I've cut 14ga wire with no problem.
  • question: Will this cut flat memory wire as well as round?

    répondre: Yes, it should cut all types of memory wire.
  • question: How long are the handles?

    répondre: They are four inches long. The cutter is very easy to handle and cut wires nicely without a lot of pressure. I use them all the time for cutting wire.
  • question: Do the jaws 'capture' the wire, like in a V-groove or with an action that closes from the tip to the center of the cutter?

    répondre: With one jaw flat, and the other curved to conform to most rings, this cutter for ring shanks 2.5mm or less will give the user a clean, right angle cut so both sides can be easily rejoined. Less like a scissor cut.
  • question: Will this cut 0.8mm stainless staples, if so how flush?

    répondre: They’ll cut the wire, but they won’t cut anything flush. The cutting edges are about 1/8 of an inch in from the sides of the jaws on both sides. These are made for cutting free-standing pieces of wire, and in particular hardened wires like music wire.

    répondre: Not sure what a bird ring is; but it does cut hog rings very well.

    répondre: They are designed to cut hardened wire, so I see no reason why they won't cut hooks.
