répondre: The bottom cap comes off. I have not tried to refill, but appears you could. -

répondre: The WSD-1 Scale and Lime Guard Dishwasher Filter is best to be used with in a dishwasher. If you are having a problem with water hardness and need more effective rinsing this would not be the correct product for that. A whole house water filter system would be a better option. -

Does this work as well as the Finish dry baskets? I can't use the liquid jet dry.
répondre: Not sure; we didn't try the Finish dry baskets. We have extremely hard water and used the filters to prevent scale building up in our dishwasher. They worked for us! -

I don't get how this works. Does it dispense phosphate into each load?
répondre: These filters use a food grade crystal which is specifically manufactured for this application. A small amount (approximately 0.5 to 5ppm) of polyphosphate is dispensed per cleaning cycle. Please keep in mind that is not an instant process and very little of the polyphosphate is dispensed during the rinse process. The polyphosphates simply act as a sequestering agent which is the action that prevents spotting and calcium buildup. Since the dilution rate is so low these filters last slightly more than the 6 months claimed. -

How do these work? Do they contain dishwasher salt?
répondre: It works. I have a stainless steel dishwasher and very hard water. 4 years and no white marks no water spots. I change it when I start to see white streaks which is 3-4 months. -

Does this remove existing scale build up or just prevent new build up?
répondre: Prevents new - I used something else to get rid of the build up - then use this to keep it from building up again -

How do you know when the product no longer works?
répondre: We start to see more cloudiness on the bottom of the dishwasher. We always mark the boxes when they arrive with the month I should replace it according to the instructions (replace every 6 months). Works for us. I always keep an extra one on hand so buy 2-3 at a time. -

répondre: Unfortunately we do not provide a refill for this product as of right now. -

répondre: Yes, this can work for a toilet tank as well.
