As to full weather exposure, it looks like the part that has the high voltage is sealed. The most exposed parts are the LEDs, which operate at a low voltage. If the open slots allow moisture to enter where it shouldn't go then I'd be more concerned with how long the product will last, not a risk of electrical shock. -

Has anyone used these in a garage door opener? I was wondering how they would do with the vibration and frequent on off cycles.
répondre: I personally have not tried only bc I do not have one, but to be honest, I believe any solid state light would do better in a garage door opener over a normal incandescent bulb. Vibration and frequent power cycles are big killers to the filaments in incandescent. I probably have 10-14 of these bulbs in my house now including 1 in an outdoor fixture and 1 in an unheated garage and have not had any issues with any of them. -

Can the be used as a oven hood light
répondre: Yes, absolutely, as long as your oven hood uses a standard light bulb (A19 size/type). These are a shatter proof, impact resistant plastic bulb with vent holes at the bottom and top. They don't get as hot as other LED bulbs, which usually have a heavy metal base, called a heat sink. If the temperature of your oven hood, especially in the area with the light does not get hot enough to melt plastic I see no reason this wohldn't work -

Can these be installed fully enclosed?
répondre: Sure..unlike CFL's, which burn at 111 degrees, LED's heat up to around 88 to 90 degrees...lower wattage ones, 60 watt for example, more like 75 or 80 degrees..they can be fully enclosed with no problem. Note that incandescent bulbs burn at 180 degrees, which is why they wasted 85% of the energy and burned out so much.
