The Beyerdynamic TG-V70D is a hypercardioid dynamic vocal microphone that does not require phantom power. Customers noted the excellent sound quality with detailed and crispy sound. However, some customers found the price to be a little high for the quality of the product. The microphone has a strong proximity effect due to the tight hypercardioid polar pattern. The fit and finish of the product are not great in comparison to other microphones in a similar price range. Overall, the microphone is recommended for its strong proximity effect, and the Audix mics are an excellent alternative with less proximity effect. If looking for a quality-made German product, consider the Sennheiser e845 and e945 for a similar but less tight supercardioid pattern.
