The MOD 102 DIY Guitar Amplifier Kit is a good value for an amp kit with high-quality components included. The assembly instructions are well-done, and the point-to-point wiring method is an excellent way to expand knowledge of electronics and amp building. The sound is excellent and toneful, and it’s a reasonably priced practice amp. However, it can be pretty noisy and should only be used with a noise gate when recording. A choke and a larger filter capacitor could be added to eliminate the AC ripple.
